Alyssa's Sweet Shoppe

Alyssa's 2nd birthday party was done in a Sweet Shoppe theme. She had/has a huge sweet tooth, so it seemed like the perfect idea, plus I really loved the pink, green, and blue combo.
The banner was made out of card stock I already had lying around and some poster board stick on letters I had left over from a yard sale. I cut out the triangles, stuck the letters on, and then punched 2 holes in the top of each one to thread a ribbon through.

Guests carried home either a pink or green cellophane bag filled with rock candy, salt water taffy, gumballs, chocolate covered marshmallows, candy sticks, popcorn, skittles, mints, and animal crackers. The gum, taffy, candy sticks, and rock candy were all ordered online at Oh! Nuts. There I was able to choose the exact colors and how much I wanted of each kind of candy.

Remember the chalkboards from the wedding shower? They are now used over and over again at our parties.

The balloon bouquets were made with mason jars covered in tissue paper with ribbon tied around the top. Then I blew up balloons and tied them around thin dowel rods and just stuck them inside. They made the tables pretty and were super easy/cheap.

I hated that the stage had to be the back drop, so my amazing step dad spent like an hour and a half weaving and taping up streamers for me. It made it look much more put together.
We had chocolate, strawberry, and caramel toppings, along with nuts, sprinkles, crushed Oreos, Cool Whip, and cherries.
I always shop at Dollar Tree and Walmart for all tableware. I've never purchased a "themed" set, and it makes the parties so much cheaper. I usually pick 2-3 main colors for the plates, napkins, cups, etc.

Cake was made by Sharon Brock (the kids' and Alan's grandmother again ;) )

For this party I didn't actually buy Alyssa a special outfit. She just wore blue jean shorts and a nice white top. Then I  made her the huge bow to match her party. <3
