A Daisy Wedding Shower

Although I can't take full credit for this event because my mother-in-law whipped it up in a very short two weeks, most of the ideas were my own. We used yellow gingham fabric in the center of each table with fresh daisies in mason jars on it.

The money tree was a branch that we spray painted white and hot glued into a piece of floral foam. We then put it in a small daisy tin that had rocks glued in the bottom to keep it weighted. We covered the foam with fake moss and hot glued daisies and yellow bows all over the branch. Clothes pins were used to pin the money to the tree.

We asked everyone to address an envelope, so not only would I be able to send out thank you cards very easily but also I'd have everyone's updated address from both families.

We used daisy candy molds to make the cream cheese mints.

Alan's grandmother (the same one that does the kids' birthday cakes) made the yellow icing and put it on the box cupcakes we had prepared. The candy daisies were ordered from a store on etsy.

This shower was simple but it all looked very nice once we had it all set up.

Ladybug Birthday Bash

Alyssa's First Birthday Party-Ladybug/garden theme with red and black tableware, streamers, and balloons

Alyssa's smash cake was actually the top tier from my baby shower cake. We froze and saved it just for her. Then I added the butterfly the day of the party.

The kids' great grandmother makes their birthday cakes. They are always cute and delicious!
All of the tables had a green tablecloth, red and black confetti, and a terracotta pot full of red and black candies.

The wooden ladybugs came from the craft section at Walmart. I just used a silver Sharpie to write her name out on them and then strung them from ribbon.
Her balloon bouquet had a huge mylar ladybug balloon that I ordered online and lots of red and black latex balloons.

Can't believe this baby girl is 4 and a half already! She is wearing an apron from Dollar Tree that had a ladybug printed on it.

Once she had finished her cake, we dressed her in her party clothes. She had a ladybug bow and pillowcase dress from Honey Pie Accessories, and red toenails and ladybug earrings.

It being my first party I didn't even think to take photos before everyone dug in to the food. These pb&j sandwiches were offered on both white and wheat, and I spent the entire morning cutting them each out with a cookie cutter.

Ladybug cookies were Nilla wafers, red icing, and chocolate chips.

The "Bug Juice" was just red punch with plastic bugs from the Dollar store frozen into the ice. We did not actually put plastic bugs in any drinks because of the choking hazard.

My mother-in-law did face painting.

Creative Outlet

I'm starting this blog because I need a place to let out some creative energy. We have had a party at our house almost once a month for the last year, and I am currently planning our Easter party. I love coming up with a theme and then finding creative ways to carry the theme throughout the whole party from the decor to the food.
I would love to have a party planning business one day when my kids are grown, but for now they need me, so I just plan lots and lots of little parties for them. In the past year I have hosted an Easter party, a surprise birthday party for my husband, a BBQ for the 4th of July, my daughter's birthday party and then my sons' birthday party, both a Halloween party for the mommy group and a Halloween bonfire, a gender reveal party, a Christmas Soiree, a camper warming party, and then helped my mom and best friend put together my baby shower last month. Every time I finish with one event I say I'm all partied out and going to take a break, but then something else comes up, and I just can't help but plan something. Also when other people are planning their own parties or showers, I have a really hard time keeping my ideas to myself. I always secretly hope they ask for my help. I couldn't imagine having someone hire/pay me to plan their event. What a dream! If it gives you any idea how much I love it, I'm crazy enough that I have the theme picked out for my daughter's 5th birthday in August and also for the boys' 3rd birthday in October. Not only that but I've started working on ideas for my unborn son's first birthday party as well. This probably makes me weird, but that's okay. It's who I am.
I plan to post photos of my past events starting back with my daughter's first birthday party, which is when I realized I had such a passion for party planning. My ideas and work have grown from there, and the parties I create have improved so much since then. It excites me to think of the parties I could come up with for someone with a large budget! The parties I throw are always done the cheapest way possible with lots of DIY projects to save money. As I plan more parties I will share ideas and links to things I have found for each theme, and then post photos and tutorials once it's all said and done. There will probably always be a Pinterest board to go with each theme as well. And then there will be plenty of ideas for "future parties" that I may never actually get to throw, but just have to get the ideas out.
So I hope you'll follow along, and maybe take some inspiration with you for your next event. I will be here letting my imagination run freely, and then sharing it all with you. I would be happy to help you all with anything I can, just send me an email. <3
